The Riverbank – Our Two-Year-Old Room

The Riverbank is a fun, busy and nurturing space where our two-year-olds can learn, explore and grow in confidence.

​

Led by our experienced Room Leader, Marie, our caring team creates a welcoming environment where children are encouraged to become more independent, make choices, develop friendships and learn through play.

Learning & Development

• 1:5 adult-to-child ratio, ensuring children receive plenty of individual attention and support.

• A dedicated Key Worker who gets to know your child and monitors their individual development.

• A wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, painting, messy play, music, singing, dancing, stories, sand and water play.

• Imaginative and role play to encourage creativity, communication and social development.

• New topics and learning experiences introduced regularly to keep children engaged and excited to learn.

• Encouragement to make their own choices, follow their interests and try new experiences, helping to build confidence and independence.

Supporting Important Milestones

Our experienced team provides gentle and positive support as children reach important milestones, including potty training and developing independence.

Children are encouraged to develop good table manners and social skills, such as waiting for friends, saying please and thank you, and enjoying mealtimes together.

Each child has their own bed for a relaxing post-lunch nap, giving them time to recharge before enjoying the afternoon.

Outdoor Play Every Day

Our fantastic garden is a huge part of life at The Riverbank. Children enjoy daily outdoor play, whatever the weather, with opportunities to run, climb, explore, get messy and enjoy the fresh air.

We provide waterproof suits when it rains, so the fun doesn’t have to stop!

Parents also receive a Daily Report with updates about their child’s day, including sleep and eating patterns, helping you stay connected with everything they have been enjoying at nursery.
